The popular Summer Trial returns for 2027, this year, once again, based in the beautiful Country Durham.

The event will follow the normal format with scrutineering on the Friday morning to midday before seeing competitors depart for an afternoon of competition. Saturday will be a full day of competition with regularities and Tests and Sunday will see a shorter but no less challenging day of competition, followed by lunch and awards and time to head home at a reasonable hour.

Event Schedule

Day 1

Scrutineering, Documentation & Rally Day – 16 July 2027

Scrutineering and Documentation will start from 09:00am and finish at 12:30pm.

The event starts with a short drive to our first regularities on some lovely undulating country lanes, skirting a couple of hamlets and scaling some burns, allowing crews to ease themselves gently into the event.

Day 2

Rally Day – 17 July 2027

A full day of competition awaits you on Day 2.

The day starts with a handful of regularities over a couple of the hills to warm you up, and multiple burns along the way on roads to challenge and views to impress you.

Our afternoon consists of further regularities overlooking reservoirs, crossing moorlands and passing through forests, making our way towards our afternoon halt before heading out for a full afternoon of competition.

We then head back to the hotel for the evening’s entertainment and stories with time to relax and tell the tales of the day, the zeros or otherwise, and no doubt relate some of those tense moments in the car as you start to unwind!

Day 3

Rally Day – 18 July 2027

The last day, and it will be time for crews to concentrate and gel together, looking for improvements, as the rally travels south competing on the country lanes. The third day also means we turn the heat up slightly, increasing the navigational challenges with the aim to test the skills you have built on over the last couple of days!

The final part of the route will see some trickier regularities awaiting you as you head to the finish, where wewill crown our winners and present the awards over lunch, before you head home by early afternoon, hopefully with a warm glow following a fun weekend of Historic Rallying under your belt.
